Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Pito ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. This app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. Parental consent is required for children under 13. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

2. Description of Service

Pito is a Kurdish multi-game app with 10 games:

• Pito Word - Guess Sorani Kurdish words (3 to 10+ letters) in 6 attempts, across 29 word categories
• Tawla - Classic Tawla with AI opponents (3 difficulty levels), online multiplayer with ELO-rated matchmaking, doubling cube, and match play
• Okey - Tile game for 4 players with online multiplayer, ELO-rated matchmaking, Concan mode, and vs-computer play
• Domino - Classic dominoes with online multiplayer, ELO-rated matchmaking, and vs-computer play
• Guess the Impostor - Social party game for 3 to 10 players with hidden roles
• Ticking Bomb - Fast-paced bomb-passing party game with random timers
• No Talking - Team charades party game: act out words with gestures only, with 17+ categories
• Stacking - Tower stacking skill game with 9 purchasable tower themes
• Xro - Block puzzle game with combo/streak scoring
• Helo - Tap-to-fly skill game with 10 eagle skins, achievements, and power-ups

The App also features virtual currencies, a global leaderboard, in-app chat with text and disappearing media messages, a friends system with streaks, hints, customizable themes, daily rewards, streak bonuses, and optional content updates. Most games work fully offline; online multiplayer (Tawla, Okey, Domino) and chat require an internet connection and a Pito account.

3. Game Economy

Pito uses three virtual currencies:

Coins (main game): Earned by winning, daily rewards (+20), sharing (+25), streak bonuses (+8 to +30), and watching optional ads (+40). Used to purchase hints, boosters, and upgrades.

Stars (Stacking game): Earned through gameplay. Used to purchase tower themes (0 to 600 stars).

Suns (Helo game): Earned through gameplay and daily bonuses. Used to purchase eagle skins (0 to 2,200 suns).

All virtual currencies have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and are lost when the app is uninstalled. There are no in-app purchases with real money.

4. Store and Purchases

The in-game store allows purchasing with virtual currency only:

• Hint Cost Reduction (100 coins) - Reduces hint price by half
• Stars Booster (400 coins) - +10 stars per game win
• Coin Booster (250 coins) - +25% more coins per win
• Tower Themes (0 to 600 stars) - 9 Stacking game themes
• Eagle Skins (0 to 2,200 suns) - 10 Helo game skins

All purchases are made with in-game currency earned through gameplay. No real money is involved.

5. Accounts and Authentication

Accounts are optional. You can create one using Google or Apple Sign-In for:

• Saving progress across devices
• Participating in the global leaderboard
• Syncing data between devices
• Setting a profile picture, username, and Instagram handle

Usernames must be appropriate. Offensive, racist, or sexual names are not allowed. Profile pictures must be appropriate. Instagram usernames, if provided, are displayed publicly on your player profile. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this policy.

6. Friends System

Pito includes a Friends system available to signed-in users:

• Friend Codes: Each account has a unique friend code you can share to let others add you
• Friend Requests: You may send, accept, or decline friend requests. Pending requests are visible to both parties until resolved
• Online Presence: When you are active in the app, your status may be visible to your friends as "online"
• Tawla Invites: You may invite friends to a Tawla game; they receive an in-app notification they can accept or decline within 15 seconds
• Notifications: Push notifications may be sent for new friend requests and incoming game invites. You can disable these in your device settings
• Appropriate Use: Do not use the friends system to harass or spam other users. Violations may result in account suspension

7. In-App Chat

Pito includes a direct messaging feature between friends:

• Friends Only: You can only send messages to users on your friends list
• Message Types: Messages may include text and disappearing media (photos and videos). Do not send abusive, threatening, or inappropriate content of any kind
• Unsend: You can unsend messages within 5 minutes of sending. Unsent messages are removed from both sides of the conversation
• Pinning & Muting: You can pin important messages and mute conversations to control notifications
• Typing Indicators: When you type a message, the recipient may see a typing indicator. This is automatic and cannot be disabled
• Read Receipts: Messages display delivery and read status. This is automatic and cannot be disabled
• Appropriate Use: Using chat to harass, spam, or send inappropriate content to other users is prohibited and may result in account suspension

8. Disappearing Media Messages

Pito includes a disappearing media feature that allows friends to exchange photos and short videos (up to 30 seconds). When the recipient closes the media viewer, that content is deleted from our servers right away:

• Camera Access: This feature requires access to your device's camera and microphone. You will be prompted for permission before first use. You may revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings
• Server deletion on close: Photos and videos stay on screen until the recipient closes the viewer (for example, the close button or system back). There is no fixed timed dismissal. As soon as the viewer is closed after the media has been shown, it is removed from our servers. Pito does not retain copies of viewed media
• Temporary Storage: Unviewed media is stored encrypted on our servers (Supabase, EU) until the recipient views it. Unviewed media is automatically purged after 30 days
• Screenshot Detection: The app monitors for screenshots while media is being viewed. If a screenshot is detected, the sender is notified. This monitoring only occurs during active media viewing and does not access any other content on your device
• No Guarantee of Deletion: While Pito deletes media from its servers when the viewer is closed, we cannot prevent recipients from capturing content through external means (e.g., another device). Send only content you are comfortable sharing
• Content Policy: Do not send inappropriate, explicit, threatening, or illegal content. Violations will result in immediate account suspension. Users must be 13 or older to use this feature
• Media Compression: Videos are automatically compressed to reduce bandwidth usage. Original quality is not preserved

9. Streaks

Pito tracks daily media message exchanges between friends:

• How Streaks Work: When two friends exchange media messages on consecutive days, a streak counter tracks the number of consecutive days. Both friends must send at least one media message per day to maintain the streak
• Expiration: If either friend fails to send a media message within 24 hours, the streak resets to zero. An expiration warning is shown when less than 4 hours remain
• Display: Streak counts are visible to both friends in the chat interface. Streak data is not shared with other users
• No Monetary Value: Streaks are a social feature only. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for virtual currency or other rewards

10. Online Multiplayer (Tawla, Okey & Domino)

Tawla, Okey, and Domino include online multiplayer with the following terms:

• Account Required: You must have a Pito account to play online Tawla, Okey, or Domino
• ELO Rating: Your skill is tracked via an ELO rating system. Ratings are publicly visible on leaderboards alongside your username
• Matchmaking: You are matched with players of similar skill. Leaving a match early (abandoning) counts as a loss and lowers your rating
• Fair Play: Any form of cheating, exploiting, or intentionally disconnecting to avoid losses is prohibited and will result in rating penalties or account suspension
• Real-Time Communication: Game moves, dice rolls, doubling cube actions, tile plays, and emoji reactions are transmitted in real-time between players via secure servers
• Game Invites: You may share invite links to invite friends to play. Invite links contain a game ID only and no personal information

11. Fair Play & Anti-Cheat

Pito uses automated systems to detect cheating and ensure fair play across all games:

• Score Validation: Submitted scores are validated server-side. Impossible or manipulated scores are rejected automatically
• Cheat Detection: Automated analysis flags suspicious patterns such as impossible score jumps or abnormal streaks
• Consequences: Confirmed cheating may result in score removal, leaderboard exclusion, or account suspension

Play fairly and enjoy the games as intended. If you believe you were flagged in error, contact us.

12. Leaderboards

Your scores and Tawla ELO rating are publicly visible on leaderboards. Only your username, scores, and ratings are shown. You must play fairly. Any form of cheating will result in account deletion.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App
• Use cheating software, bots, or automated tools
• Share inappropriate or harmful content
• Violate the rights of other users
• Use the App for commercial purposes without permission
• Attempt to access other users' personal information
• Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage

Violations may result in suspension or termination of access.

14. Intellectual Property

All content in Pito is the property of Rozhyar Ali Kamal and is protected by copyright, including:

• The "Pito" name and logo
• All software code and designs
• Kurdish word collections and categorizations
• Game audio and music
• All graphics, animations, and skins

You may use the app for personal gameplay, take screenshots, and share results. You may not copy, reproduce, sell, or create modified versions of the game.

15. Data Protection

Without an account, all data stays on your device. With an account, data is stored on Supabase (EU servers) with encryption. We do not display third-party advertisements and we do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

16. Content Updates

The App may download updated word lists and game content from secure servers. These downloads use HTTPS, transmit no personal information, and are optional. If offline, the App uses local content.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the App at your own risk.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for direct damages is limited to $100 USD. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including data loss, lost profits, or device damage.

19. Termination

By you: At any time by uninstalling the app.

By us: For violations of these Terms, illegal use, or harmful behavior.

Automatic: After 2 years of complete inactivity.

Upon termination, all rights and licenses end. Local data remains until you delete it.

20. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify users 30 days in advance of major changes through the app and by email (if available). Continued use after changes means acceptance.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kurdistan Region and federal law of Iraq, with consideration of international law principles. Disputes will be resolved through good faith communication, with mediation preferred. Court proceedings, if necessary, will be in Erbil, Kurdistan Region.

If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining parts remain in effect. The Kurdish version takes precedence in case of translation conflicts.
